Gents,

Stephen had mentioned that he hadn't seen a performance difference between the standard velocity Winch 115 gr. JHP and the same weight Winch Silvertip. I just found a BIG difference...the price. The standard Winch/USA 115 gr. JHP load sells for about $13-14.00 per 50 rounds. The same weight bullet marked "Silvertip" is selling for $32-33.00 per 50 rounds.
That's a lot to pay for plating...
Your choice. I know what mine would be...

Dear Sir,
Thanks for confirming what I've always been told- the white box are Silvertips (tm) without the nickel electroplating. Not worth it to me, either.

And the bad news is....WalMart quit carrying the 115gr USA JHP's locally.

There is another big difference. The quality control between the two is as different as night and day, USA brand is very inconsistant and quite a bit dirtier when fired.
