Where to buy ammo?

Tired of going to the store all the time, and looking to purchase 1,000 rounds of 9mm and .45ACP.

Local shop has CCI Blazer (steel case) 9mm on sale for $4.99 and .45ACP for $7.89 every week. Seems like a good deal. Any suggestions for low ammo prices on line?

Thanks.

The Blazer should be brass or aluminum cased. If steel, it's not CCI.
Those are both VERY good prices. You may get a better per box price on-line, but then you'll have to pay HazMat and shipping fees. Your local guy may even give you a better deal for case purchases.

You're right, the case is aluminum, not steel. Thanks.
Hi there mjincp,

There are a couple of good places you can buy bulk ammo on line:

Try checking these out:

www.cheaperthandirt.com

You should be able to find some good deals!

I generally get my bulk ammo from Natchez, but you won't be saving anything from your local store's fine prices by the time you factor in shipping.

You're right. The shipping is a killer. I will continue to support my local store. I've bought all my firearms there, and they are always very helpful. They've more than earned my business, and I'm happy to spend my $ there.
I wish those prices were available near me! :)

I like my local place, but they don't keep the Chicago load in .38 special.

I buy from MidwayUSA quite a bit. The shipping cosst isn't all that bad. Still works out cheaper than local when sale tax is included.

I buy from Georgia Arms at gun shows. If they come to your area check them out. Although I have never tried it, I was told that they would bring a special order to a gun show for you rather than ship it. I am thinking about that for some 12 gage ammo.
Georgia Arms are good people to deal with.

I've bought a lot of .38 wadcutters, .40S&W and .45AR from them, plus odds and ends of other stuff.

Pat
I guess I will chime in on the Georgia Arms too. Nothing but praise here.

Basspro (the brick store) usually beats Waaly world on WhiteBox ammo and is one of the only places left that gives an across the board 10% military discount. Seems like last time I bought 9mm winchester 115"s was $105 per 1000 with tax and discount out the door. As high of quality and low of price as that line of Winchester ammo is I see no reason to mess with Blazer imported or other lines of questionable ammo. This being said I will soon be a customer of Georgia Arms as well as they seem to be the only people loading defensive 38 Super ammo to it's full potential IE there 147 gr HP loading. Although my best reccommendation for blasting ammo to feed a handgun is a Dillon press.

Another thought, I do shop online but I allways try to give the local shop my business, If we dont the local shop wont be around, As long as the price isnt too outrageous. I dont mind paying a little extra for A salesman who knows and probably uses his products, the chance to get hands on before you buy and the convience of I need it now glad you're here. However I seem to be getting more and more, "We can order it for you" I can order it.

MidwayUSA has about the fastest 'ground' shipping I've ever seen. They must keep a truck backed up against the dock as they take your order. I get a lot of stuff from them besides ammo. It's an interesting site to browse.
