Hi to all. I need some info for an old PP, which has nazi proof marks on it - date of manufacture, etc. Can you post some links to sites were I can check the serial number?

Post over on http://forums.p38forum.com/index.htm and go to the PP forum. Provide all info you can on markings, location(s) of markings, grips, etc. Pictures would be a big help.

The proofmarks are most important, so make sure you give them.

Exact information may be hard to come by.
All the records were destroyed after WW2.
In fact, the American Technical Intelligence Team spirited Fritz Walther away scant hours before the Soviets took over the Walther factory. About all Fritz had time to grab were design drawings, and patent papers, which allowed him to start up the company again after the war!!
