I originally began saving and figured I'd have enough for a good base model after about a year. But... I can't stand looking at all of this

with no way to shoot it!

Josh, you know as well as I do that you didn't need any excuse like a bunch of ammo to justify buying a 1911.

Of course, you'll be completely tricked out with ammo when the gun arrives. Now all you have to do is buy eightylevendozen holsters for it.

Right now I'm laid up with tonsilitis, even though I thought I got rid of those little buggers back in '57.

I dropped that gun off for refinishing just this morning.

Quick off-topic: Because you are only a few years younger than my parents You have your "show age" enabled in your profile it looks like.

I don't understand refinishing pistols. It's another thread I guess, but I would use touch up blue (the acid stuff, three pens) and just got tired of applying it.

Even if I forget to oil my pistol for a while it doesn't rust. Not purty but very functional.

My 1911 will look the same way after about a week
