Do any of you have an opinion on the SW99 series of pistols, the 45ACP version in particular ? These guns are fairly intriguing.....very comfortable, well thought out, good features.....but they don't seem to be very popular. I handled the 45ACP version recently and it is still very comfortable for my smallish hands, and not overly large overall. I wonder why it might not compete well against the newcomers from Glock and Springfield in 45GAP. It seems the SW99 achieves the same objective but with a caliber we've all gotten comfortable with for close to 100 years, and which is widely and inexpensively available.

Any thoughts ?

I bought one a few weeks ago. I've put 1200 rounds through it without a jam and without a serious cleaning. I enjoy shooting it.

I have not done any side-by-side, but my impression is that the recoil may be a little more noticeable with this gun: its light and the bore axis is higher than, say, a Glock 21.

Be sure to check out the THREE trigger modes: Traditional DA/SA, SA, and SA trigger fully forward.
