A younger guy I work with is eager to buy a Sig 229 in 9mm. Sig, of course, makes excellent guns, but I've been trying to talk the kid into a heavier chambering, such as .40 Smith or .357 Sig (which can be the same gun with a second barrel) or my own preference, which would be .45 ACP. We're talking self-defense, here, not recreational shooting. Are there any wiser heads out there who might help me prevail, or at least suggest some of the pros and cons? I need some better ammo---no pun intended.
Thanks
