Thinking about mounting a red-dot on my 9mm Taurus.
My gundealer says it's problematic on pistols for their moving slides.
Any opinions? Or any good mounts you can recommand?

Yana you should check out the Docter sight and the J-point sight..They both ride the slide and are easy to mount and great to use..

I've used Glocks and SIG mounting lasers that replaced the guide rods. They worked well, but personally unless I was kicking doors with a SWAT team and needed to point shoot I don't think they are worth the expense.

They do make sense and are worth their cost for someone with presbyopia or another eye condition that would prevent them from using regular sights. For them, it is just a matter of focusing on the laser dot on the target and triggering the shot.
