I have an OM Ruger .45 LC (circa 1971) and am looking for a .45 acp cylinder. Before I begin a search in earnest I wondering if any Ruger .45 acp cylinder will work, and how much fitting is required?

I do not want to send the gun to Ruger for fitting as I don't want them mucking with it.

Also looking for info on anyone who shoots with the .45 acp through their Ruger .45 LC.

My understanding has been that the .45 acp is accurate and a good round through this gun. It's certainly cheaper to shoot that the LC.

Thanks for any advice.

Steve,

You might try this one out over on the Ruger forum as there are some knowledgable regulars there as well. My understanding (albeit limited to the 22/22 mag case) is that you cannot swap the cylinders randomly but that some degree of fitting/matching is required for good accuracy and reduced spitting, etc..
