Thanks, Jack. I heard from a local shooter that he had tried a few rounds and had no problems, but this same guy carries an old Colt .25 for back-up. I'm a little hesitant to take his word for it being good!

Thanks and I look forward to your report.

Regards,
Steve

I received my order of 500 Miwall reloads (9mm 115gr "TMJ") today. It came loose in an excellent plastic ammo box that could easily handle 1000 rounds (it also contained three boxes of Speer 9mm 124 gr Gold Dot I had ordered, plus ample stuffing). The cartridges were as clean and bright as factory ammo, and were made of brass from various makers (mostly RemChester) and full metal jacket bullets. I thought the "TMJ" designator meant Truncated Metal Jacket, but I guess not. In any event, I transferred a hundred rounds to empty cartridge boxes and headed for the range.

First, the pistol, a Browning Hi-Power I bought in 1967 and carried, along with two spare magazines, as my personal weapon on two flying cruises to Vietnam. After it sat in my sock drawer for thirty years, I decided to take up shooting again. I've modified it a fair amount. I had the load ramp polished to accommodate hollow point rounds, and installed Cylinder & Slide's SFS kit, as well as a Crimson Trace laser grip. The SFS kit replaced the stock main spring with a much stiffer one, but the recoil spring is a Wolf standard compression. This weapon has handled every standard pressure load I have tried on it, but with Cor Bon 115 DPX+ it "sparks" when the shell is ejected. I could install a stronger recoil spring, as Mr. Camp recommends, but since this is an old gun -- and my hands are seventy-five years old -- I chose to stick with standard pressure.

Now the ammunition. I fired 100 rounds at a #23 target at seven yards (I shoot strictly for self/home defense). All rounds loaded, fired and ejected perfectly, without noticeable flash or smoke, and barely noticeable recoil. The ejected shells all landed to my back right, about four feet away. All bullets went into the "green zone" when I did my part. I had been paying about thirty bucks more/thousand for Fiocchi from a different source, but it sometimes is not available. Miwall seems to have this available all the time. It is now my standard 9mm range ammunition. Highly recommended.

By the way, I have no idea what "TMJ" stands for. What's your guess?

Cordially, Jack
