The new Fiocchi 9x18 is labled: "Made in Hungaria".

I suppose that means made by MFS in Sirok, Hungary.

Have any of you recent boxes of Fiocchi in other calibers, and is it also made in Hungary? I'm just curious as to what's going on.

Never used the 9x18 or anything sold by Fiocchi BUT Armscorp USA does import ammo made by MFS. They sell it under their "Lake City" brand. A local range/shop carries that stuff in .45ACP and sells it to you if you rent one of their .45's. I also have bought a case of the .45 ball and it isn't bad stuff. Not match ammo but my 1911's and XD shoot it without burps or malfunctions. MFS has also sold some of their ammo here under their own name, maybe 15-18 months back.

Would I buy it again, yes if the price was right. I just don't like Armscorp using the "Lake City" name.

Thanks Mikec. I shoot quite a bit of 9x18 - Armscorp has also imported some 9x18 "Lake City" made by MFS, and MFS has been sporadically available in the caliber. I agree about using the brand name "Lake City".

But this is the first I've heard that the Italians were oursourcing ammo manufacture to the Hungarians. Interesting relationship. The "European Union".

Actually, on one web site they list Fiocchi .223 made in the US. The box actually says "Proudly made in the USA" I guess you get the ammo made wherever you can and by whomever.

Now THAT's interesting! Fiocchi .223 made in the USA.

Do they actually have a plant? I'm maybe running this thread into the ground, but who makes what is an interesting subject to me. Besides, I've found that a brand name doesn't matter; it's who makes the ammo. I like to know the manufacturers.

Mike, I wrote just about every contact listed on the Fiocchi website. They list their contacts as guys with "Yahoo!" email addresses.

Does that give a flavor of their situation? The emails bounced.

Where did you see that? Under "Contact US", it lists their reps and some staff people. The staffers had Fiocchi email addresses.
