I have a s&w 638 and I was reading on this site about the corbon DPX ammo, well one of the firearms tested was a 638 that had what it appeared to be Eagle Secret Service grips in rosewood that were checkered and had the S&W emblem on them. I searched Eagles website and it had the grips without the S&W logo. Was this gun a special run by S&W? I would appreciate any info on finding these grips. here is the link to the site that I am speaking of http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/Corbon%2038%20Special%20Ammo.htm

and...

Thanks

I believe Eagle offers the grip medallions as an option upon ordering. One caveat, I've yet to try a pair of Secret Service grips that worked with speedloaders without modification.

I would like to thank yall for the info. I checked the link from S&W, however (one criteria that I believe to should be addressed on their website in the inclusion of jpegs; it doesn't require that much storage to document pictures especially with their budget!) anyways to the point they do not include the pics. Do you believe that these are the grips that I speak of? Again, thanks

swj1226,

No, I don't believe so and since S&W outsources their grips to a wide variety of manufacturers, you may have to keep looking. Their products change based on availability.

However, here is another link of J-frame boot grips without the medallions:

They are a bit pricey.

I hope that it helps.

Best,

Chris
