I handled one of these yesterday, but didn't get to shoot it.

I wanted to, though -- badly, if that tells you anything.

Buddy of mine has one. It's a great shooter. I am not a big fan of Ruger autos -- as much as I love Blackhawks -- but I like this one pretty well.

Yep, BeachPork is still here. Been busy at work. I'll make sure to jump in more often. Missed you guys. ;)

When I took my class to get my carry permit there was
a fellow class mate that was going to use one to qualify
with. The one he had would not get him through the
shoot. It would cycle about 3 and jam every time and this is with factory ammo (Winchester white box I think)
I lent him my P97 so he could finish and he was happy.
I never got a chance to find out what was wrong with it
it was in great shape from the outside.
I do know my P97 does function a lot better with hotter
ammo. The win. will work in mine but it does seem weak.
My home loads and Rem. green box work really well.
Hope this helps.

Gil...

I handled one. As Ruger revolvers are my favorite, i've
always been unimpressed with Ruger autos.

The P345 with stainless slide seemed slim and trim, but the slide was tall. SIG P220 came to mind.

I shot one of these last Sat. I went there thinking it wasn't going to do much for me but I was surprised. It shot very nice with tight groups at 40'. I don't like D/A much on any gun but this gun did every thing it was supposed to. Even with my reloads it shot great.
