Whats stunning in this study is how many seasoned LEO's were killed by .38/.380/9mm calibers's. Looks to be like half the total and a large proportion were wearing vests.

I'm just wondering if its because of the popularity of these calibers among the criminal element (indeed the general gun owning population) that statistically you would see a higher level of fatalities in this size of caliber.

But it does make the 9mm vs .40/45 caliber argument kinda moot it seems.

Just as scary from is the quote from one of the cop killers: "There's no time to sight up the weapon. If you hesitate, you're dead!" Interesting street level mentality to keep in mind.
