Hi folks,

Thought I'd pick the group mind on this one. What's the fastest c. 95-gr .380 FMJ or SP load available? Is it the Santa Barbara stuff that SOG has?

Anybody know pre-release info on the stuff Mcnett at Double Tap will be selling? Will it include FMJs?

(I've been thinking about what that pathologist told me about carrying FMJ .380s in a tiny gun, and working hard to target specific anatomical structures that will get results. I've been reading Gray's Anatomy a lot, and thought I'd check to see what's out there in the .380 world.)

cheers, erich

Hello. The fastest I'm aware of is the Santa Barbara 95-gr. It looks like a JSP with very little lead exposed, but it doesn't expand at all. From a Walther PP, it averaged 1161 ft/sec. When fired from a SIG-Sauer P230, 1079 ft/sec, and from a Bersa, 1029 ft/sec.

Best.

Hi Erich,

A lot of the boys over on the KTOG forum run Santa Barbara through their Kel Tec P3-AT's and are on a constant search for sources for it.

They seem to favor it for a defensive load. Its kind of like running "high test" through your plastic pistol and they seem to enjoy it!

I have never been able to find a consistant source for it.

Chris
