I pick mine up today from "Chucks" and tried it out on the range. Now this is the first DA/SA pistol I own. I like the way it sits in my hand. The Da pull feels OK to me as does the SA pull. The recoil on it is very light. Now when I shot the pistol (100 rds total ) I found it to shoot straight but about 3" low. I shot 5 rd strings and I had to aim at the top of the 7 ring to get 10 ring hits on the B26 targets. The sights are fixed so I guess I'll have to compensate each time I shoot this gun or change the sights. I know, change the sights. The Plus of this pistol is that it came with an acessory rail attached. So I can put a laser on and adjust that to POI. Other than that I think this will be a fun gun. Or at the least a trade gun for a CZ.

Oh yeah, one other thing, I don't know how to take it apart yet.
It doesn't break down like a 1911 or BHP. I'll look it up on the web later.

I went on line and down loaded the manual for this pistol. it breaks down a little tougher than the SA pistols I'm use too. I ordered a laser sight and a flash light for it to attach to the assy. rail. It feels a bit heavier and a little larger than my HP's. I don't have any here to compare with right now but I will check it out later. Anyway for $350 I don't feel bad about it. It is kind of fun it being a DA pistol. Once I get the laser sight and line it up I'll post on the pistol again.

Howdy Mr. Spikey614,

Welcome to the world of CZ pistols plum nearly sir. I have heard good things about them on the CZ forum, and folks there do bascially seem to consider them a CZ clone for the most part - in a postive way. Since they offer some calibers not readily found in CZ pistols, many of their members own both makes.

You did not note with bullet you were shooting that grouped low for you sir. Just a suggestion, before doing any sight work, why not try various weights and see if they are more user friendly in that platform. I think the CZ tend to like the 124s the best from what I can recall. I shoot that load in my SP01 and it is dead on. Just a thought.

If your pistol is bascially a 75B clone, with luck you also have the option of going cocked and locked with the manual safety (like the HP), or manually lowering the hammer for DA first shot. I see that configuration as offering the best of both worlds to me, although I will carry mine 99% of the time cocked and locked, as I prefer the SA mode.

Good luck and let us know if using different weight rounds helps your sights at all sir. Keep us posted too.

I was using the CCI Blazer 115gr aluminum cased ammo. Thats what the store sells for the range. I took it out yesterday and I placed the front sight dot just under the rear dots and everything went fine. POI went to POA every time I did that. I will try different ammo next time I go. I forgot about the ammo difference. I don't buy the CCI Blazer ammo much anymore. Thanks and I'll let you guys know.

I added the laser sight to the rail and sighted it in at 25 yds. It hits the red dot every time now. I went to the EAA web site and ordered a adjustable sight for mine. I like the laser for a toy right now. It is just too much on the pistol for me. Now I would like a Light/Laser attachment for it but it would still be a toy to me right now. If I decide to use this one for the night stand I feel the rail with the LL attached would be a fine tool. Still it was cheap and is fun to shoot.

I had a Tanfoglio Combat (that's how the Witness is called outside the USA) in 38SA, it was a good, strong and beautiful gun. I sold it because I got another Tanfoglio, a Stock Custom (which is like a blonde and turbocharged version of the Combat), sooooo beautiful. If you have disassembled a Browning HP before, the Witness is done in a very similar way.
Congratulations!.

Thank you Rod,
I have decided to leave the laser off and just go with the light. This is for legal reasons that I won't go into now due to the forums content rules. Still a light on the pistol will be a good thing for the night stand.

As for the disassembly issues a trip to the web site and a hit on the copy button took care of that. I just have to tap out the slide stop when all is lined up. No problem now.

I have ordered another sight for it. The fixed rear sight is just not low enough for me to get POA hits with any ammo I use. It shoots straight but still low at about 3"s. I KNOW it's not me because everyone who shoot it said the same thing. Plus I read it in the "National Enquirer" LOL ( I couldn't help myself)

I was reading an old article on the Tangfoglio/ Witness from around 1994 and it was said to be an "Improved Version" of the CZ. I don't know about that. What I do know it is a very good shooting tool. It feels good in my hand and shoots straight. Like Threefeathers I just might get the 10mm.
