Hi there all,

Sometimes people make me the strangest offers as I am the neighborhood gun enthusiast.

This evening, a neighbor offered to sell me his IMI Desert Eagle in .50 calibre Action Express for $700.00. He bought it new from a dealer and I was curious as to its value and use. I know that they retail for about $1295.00.

Does anyone know of any one that actually shoots this cannon?

Carolina,

Pietro over on Shootersville does. I think his is in .44 magnum however.

Primary use is hunting and a "fun gun." It's gas operated.

I would buy it for $700 simply because of the trade-in value around here. They're the "cool" pistols I guess.

Hi there Josh,

My neighbor bought it for the "cool factor" as well and I was with him when he picked it up.

He actually has taken it to the range a couple of times to shoot (20 rounds at a time).

I talked him into buying the "Baby Eagle", i.e. Jericho Arms 9 mm version of the same gun which he shoots quite a bit more than the "Daddy Eagle".

It is by all accounts a "crowd pleaser" when you go down to the range with its own sound and light show.
