I dropped by my favorite gunshop yesterday afternoon is see if anything new was in the handgun cases. An old prewar S&W six inch M&P .32-20 on consignment at what I considered to be an outrageous price and a Colt 1908 .25 ACP Vest Pocket Model.

Looked over the Colt and it was all original. It showed a fair amount of finish wear except for the grips which were much nicer looking. I rated it at 70 percent, The mag was the original two type and the spring was still quite strong. Price was $225 plus tax.

Whipped out my DL, CCW permit, and Visa and ten minutes later I took it out to the car for safe keeping.

I have little use for the .25 Auto round. For pocket carry I use a Kel-Tec P32. But I just couldn't leave that little blaster behind in the case. Like it or hate it, the pistol was designed by JMB and I rate all of his pistol designs as classics. Besides, I have an excuse. I had almost 100 rounds of .25 ACP ammo languishing on the shelf without a pistol to shoot it.

Hiya Roadster,

How'd the little gem shoot?

I was given one last Thursday. Belonged to a friends Grandad, and came with the 12 rounds Grandad left with it. Two magazines, one looks to be original colt, and a new looking one marked FN. S/N dates it to 1919.

Prolly testfire it this week some, as I have ammo on hand. Cool little guns.

Know what you mean Kilroy; now that I have both 1908's the collector in me is screaming "Complete The Set! Get a 1903!" :)

Hiya Jeb,

Its been a lot of fun trying it out this week. Had to be function tested, of course. ::cough::cough::

Looks to hold decent groups with Super-X ball. The Super-X pelletpoints were all over the place. Need to find more ammo for it soon.

The minuscule 'sights' in the slide tunnel are actually capable of precision work if you use reading glasses to get them sharp.

Prolly pick up an extra mag for it if I see one. And stag grips of course.

Regards,

Pat
