I've been happy with the Georgia Arms loads, which seem to be pretty much the same as Remington. Label says new ammunition, 230 gr round nose at 780 fps. $12 for 50 rounds.

They do a lot of shows in the Southeast, plus mail order. Good people. 1-770-459-5117

Does Remington not load it anymore? They were the only source for years.

Remington discontinued production of their .45 Auto Rim ammo back about 1989.

I've read that PMC is now producing Auto Rim ammo, but I don't know what loads are available.

I own two S&W revolvers that will chamber the Auto Rim. A very nice Model 25-2 6.5" that I bough new back in 1979 and a 625-2 Model of 1988 purchased new that year. The 25-2 is seldom out of the safe, but the 625-2 sees regular use with mostly my handloaded Auto Rim rounds.

I have to wonder what has brought the .45 Auto Rim back from the nearly obsolete category to limited production again. Maybe other people besides myself have had enough of fooling around with those pesky fullmoon clips....

Thanks guys. I will definitely check out Georgia Arms, pff, as well as PMC.

Pointblank, I do have a Cor Bon catalog which shows a nice mild target load but it doesn't seem to be available on the Website nor have I seen it anywhere. I have the same 25-2 as Roadster, and since I use it only for recreational purposes, the DPX is a bit expensive for my budget. Were I using the gun for serious things, it would be near the top of my list.

Thanks for the ideas,

PGM
