.357 Magnum Black Talon 180 gr.

At the bottom of my ammo box I recently found a box of .357 Black Talons (S357M). Was its heavy (180 gr.) bullet intended for personal defense or hunting? I assumed that it was a hunting load; however, according to gelatin test data at Brass Fetcher, it exited a 2.5" barrel at almost 1,100 fps, penetrated 13.9", and expanded to 0.63". Quite remarkable for a 180 gr. load. --c

I think the 180s were for hunting as I recall.
Corky: Would you fire some of those from an Airlite snubby and then give us your impressions?
Cordially, Jack
Well, I doubt it, jaydubya, but perhaps in my 5" Model 27.
