Very Mad Popups

I don't know it this is the proper place to post this, but here goes. I apologize if it is incorrect.

Today for the first time ever, I am getting popups for Scottrade and others when I open up on a subforum thread. Is anyone else experiencing this?? I am using Google Chrome as a browser.

Thanx

I've been seeing them for about the last week, doc. My browser is Microsoft Edge. I'm looking at an ad for Nexus 6P ad from the Google Store at the bottom of your post.

I'm looking at an ad for Subway at the bottom of doc's post.
Now I'm hungry!

Very Mad

Well, how can we get rid of them and stop them from showing up?? They have never been here before.

I've been getting them for quite awhile myself. I believe they block some of the photos that are posted in the beginning of a thread. I have tried closing them with no success. If you guys figure out how to get rid of them, please let me know.

Hey Folks,

You might want to try to download ABP (Ad Blocker Plus) to your machines. I don't get any ads or pop-ups on any website. It really works!

I just spent some time trying to block these third party cookies from showing up here. I just am not very computer smart....actually nearly computer illiterate!! I did find if I use Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome, the popups do NOT show up. I was hoping that maybe the Administrator of this forum could do his computer magic and make them go away and hide elsewhere.

I have been noticing them, too. Are they authorized by the operators of this blog? If so, are they supporting the cost of band width and administration? Those are real and reasonable costs. I see ads at the top of the page, around the general info about the website, log in, etc. But these ads are turning up in the messages.

Looking forward to hearing more about this.

I have the same hope. I am using Apple Safari and am unable to rid them no matter what I try. They are recent for me as well. It would seem logical they had to be enabled somewhere to start appearing within post and threads when they were not present before. Seems like the normal rotating banner has enough room for advertising.

Hello,

Back in the day. Steve Camp used to contribute to a "Ad Free" website with a small tariff to pay. If you don't want pop-ups and ads than ask the Admins how to go about doing it! This website was created by Josh Smith and sold to another person whose name I can't remember. However, if you contact the Admin's on this site, they can make suggestions of how to make it "ad free". Otherwise, I suggest you download ABP. I don't get any pop-ups here or anywhere else.

Best,

Chris
