Chris, think I'll do that. However, the current pop up says I should "launch" (their word) a nursing degree. I retired 3 years ago only to come out of retirement about a year ago for part time at a LGS. At 66, if I wanna be a nurse then I better "launch" the new career pretty soon:-)

The one in Les message for me is from the NRA, but they all seem to be from sites I have visited and accepted cookies from.

Nuclear, yep it seems we're being tracked. Most, if not all, of the pop ups, like you, are from websites I've recently visited. So where did the "nursing" one come from? My daughter, next Fall, is going off to become a Veterinarian so checks, on a regular basis, the schools she's applied to. I guess veterinarian is close enough of a word to trigger a nursing school commercial.

Looking into Mutual Funds. That is what is poping up on the first page.
Like what Chris said. "May have to go to CNET and download the "free" AD BLOCKER PLUS software" and you won't see any advertising or pop ups on any site that you visit.

Someone correct me if I am wrong(it happens a lot), but surely there is a webmaster that runs this website and keeps everything up to snuff....right? Perhaps he/she has taken a loooong vacation!!

Gents,

Just checking in, but if you're getting pop up and it's not from this site it's a non-issue and shouldn't be discussed here. We are first and foremost a gun forum..

I agree with Chuck, this is getting old!! It has only started recently, and is ONLY occurring on THIS forum....at least for me. I was hoping that there was someone/some way to get it stopped. I am the only one using this computer.

Dang,

You folks are stubborn... I don't get any banners, pop-ups or advertising...

Adblock Plus for Internet Explorer - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com

They have different versions to be more specific with your internet browser. Even a 60 something year old guy like me can figure this stuff out!

Best,

Chris

Chris,

I looked into it, and was going to add it to my Google Chrome(no problems when I use Internet Explorer) but it stated that the addition of ABP would change the way my browser would read and something else if installed. I am too computer ignorant/fearful to go around adding stuff that changes the way my browser functions. This only happens on this forum!!
