FEG Browning HP Clone sights

::) I have this FEG Clone in 9 MM and would like to install adjustable sights in place of the stock fixed sight. Are the dove tail slots on these the same dimensions as a FN HP? Is there a commercial sight such as a BOMAR that would be a drop in installation or would it require gunsmithing by a pro? Anybody out there in shooter land done this and what is your experience? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I used a round file on the rear sight to open up the notch and give it a different shape. this is the fixed sight that is stock on my FEG. this is what worked for my eyes, I can see the front sight a lot easier now, and it still "centers" in the now "U" shaped notch.

Sorry y'all, the dovetail slot on the FEG pistols is not made to the same dimensions as the BHP. New sights on the FEG clones means machining new dovetail slots for a new set of sights. Aftermarket rear sights are not available for the FEG's rear dovetail slot, and the front sight will require the machining of a new dovetail slot since it is staked and cannot readily be changed. So you basically have two choices with sights on a FEG. Live with the factory sights or spend a couple of hundred bucks to have new slots machined and new sights installed in them.

Mike7777's solution is about the limit of the FEG sight's adaptibility.

Best wishes and nice to have you both on the forum.

thanx for the welcome. the machine work required buys a lot of practice ammunition. The pistol is more accurate than me with the fixed sights. The practice ammo will allow me to become a better shooter moreso than new sights.

I have a flat jewelers file with smooth edges, so I was able to widen the rear sight notch and not deepen it. But what I really need is a wider front sight. If I figure out something I will post it here. I did add three white dots to the sights

These are a family of adjustable sights that Brownell's carries. Drift out the rear sight on your pistol and measure the width. Call Brownell's and ask a technician for the right one based on your slot size or the next larger sight of this family. Order their 65 degree file and open up your dovetail on your gun until it fits.

You might need a nylon drift also,

Was the FEG clone designed originally for a one handed freely recoiling grip and stance similar to bullseye competition? It was the only way I could get it to group around the point of aim. With a firm two handed grip it shot several inches low.

I took the top of the front sight down with a file until my preferred two handed shooting grip started clustering around the aiming point, using a modified Weaver stance or rested over the hood of the Jeep. Grouping about an inch at 15 yards.

When I got home, I filed the back curve of the front sight blade (facing me) to a straight up and flat top 90 profile then touched it up with flat black paint. There is just enough front sight to fill the rear notch vertically and a little light on each side. That rounded blade front sight is damn hard to see in varying light angles and conditions. Now it provides a starker, cleaner sight picture. Then I put a little white dot on it to match the two I had put on the rear sight. Looks good now.
