recoil spring

ok, noob question here.

I have owned my hi power for about 5 months now and am nearing 1000 rounds. (I dont get to shoot nearly as much as I wish I could but this is no fault of the hp's) After each trip to the range, I dutifully clean and lightly lube the gun.

After reading an article on hipowersandhandguns on hi power longevity, I see that Mr. Camp recommends the recoil spring be changed at 1000-1200 rounds. Ok, so I go to order new recoil springs from Browning and they're only $2 bucks a piece, great. But then I see the recoil spring guide assembly as well as the recoil spring. Am I supposed to buy a new assembly as well or can I just buy new springs and put new springs on the old guide rod?

Thanks for the help.

recoil spring

Hello. Just the springs and I probably change them in all of my semiautos more often than is actually required.
