The firing pin safety doesn't bother me too much. I'd just as soon it left, but there are things I'd rather see changed.

For example, the magazine disconnect. Get rid of it.

My request would be for FN to start making something like a HiPower version of the SA "Loaded" 1911s. Things like improved sights, a slightly wider safety, some sort of no-bite hammer. Yes, they made some partial attempts at some of that when they introduced the MKIIIs, but taking it an extra step or two further wouldn't hurt. A few things like that could be done to make it a better seller without much added expense IF they were done during production. Just milling it for Novak sights, whether they installed Novaks or a copy would be a start.

I would think it would pay off. They aren't big expensive alterations, just doing what they do now a little differently.

True, but since I put rumors in the same catagory as statements starting with, "This ain't no sh**...." I don't pay much attention to them. A simple look at worldwide needs and governmental preferences show the P35 as being considered obsolete, no matter how much we may love it. Fortunately so many have been made that we shouldn't have a problem finding pistols and parts for the foreseeable future.
"Of every one hundred men they send me, ten shouldn't even be here. Eighty of them are nothing but targets, nine of them are real fighters - we are lucky to have them, they make the battle. Ahhhh but the one. One of them is a warrior and he will bring the others home."

The Germans were smart enough to lose the magazine interlock when they were in charge of HP production... and I think they were right... I'd lose the magazine interlock.

Next, the thumb safety is the other thing I really don't like about the BHP... there is no reason it can't be easily operated with a discernible felt click when the safety engages or dis engages... and it should not require both hands to engage the thumb safety... it should be relatively easy to engage/disengage and have t positive feel when it goes on or off.

I like the round hammer too and would like to see it come back.
