Excellent FM 90's

Whenever I see certain companies marketing a surplus pistol in very good condition, I always figure someone else has them in excellent or better condition and the FM 90's recently marketed at $299 are no exception. After a brief search I found the excellent-condition guns out at JG Sales in Arizona for $339 with a pair of Pachmayr-appearing grips and one magazine.

For anyone who likes the Browning Hi Power style of pistol and isn't too hung up on names, the Argentine FM 90 and FM 95 are good quality close copies of the FN/Browning guns. Unfortunately, the new FM 95's became too expensive to import a couple of years ago because of the weak dollar, but these very nice FM 90's are now showing up at what I consider to be good prices. They are minus the ambi safety, straight feed ramp, and firing pin safety of the later FM 95, but appear to be in really nice condition.

This is the Argentine FM 90 marketed by JG Sales out in Arizona. I borrowed their picture for this post. This one is one of their excellent-condition guns, which they sell for $339 plus a $10 hand pick fee. They also have them in "very good" condition for $309, with close up photos also available. Their shipping charge is $22 per pistol, UPS or FedEx ground.

SOG also has them in very good condition for $299, as I said on another thread, but the JG guns in excellent condition really caught my eye. Now if I could catch some bucks to go along with the desire. I guess I'll just have to see how close I am to the POD factor (Probability of Divorce) known so well to serious gun owners

You can see them for yourself at:

PS - I believe they have the older small safety lever too.

Excellent FM 90's

Here's another view. Thanks for the heads up. I have one of these I bought new 20 years ago, and it's a nice pistol.

Good lord those are nice! I ran and showed the J&G site with those up to my "guid wyffe" ["can we get one, huh? Pleeeze?!" ]

So are those the pistols the BA police have traded in for the Bersas? ??? Those pistols don't even look 25 years old?!

Excellent FM 90's

Dave,

It's quite common in law enforcement for command officers and special duty admin officers to carry their guns for years and never fire them. I bought a 1995 Smith M5906 that was virtually unfired about a year and a half ago. I think that's where the really nice FM 90's are prolly coming from too.

Excellent FM 90's

I received my excellent condition FM M90 from J & G Sales late last week. It is truly in excellent condition. S/N 368XXX. My LEO friend who turned me on to HPs agreed with me that the barrel had never had a bullet through it. There was no wear from carrying anywhere on this beauty. It came with an original box with no serial no. on the box. The box was more worn than the pistol. This afternoon I sent 80 FMJ rounds down range. Not one failure... not even close. I was very pleased with the accuracy even with the mag disconnect still in. This evening, I removed the mag disconnect.

I am very pleased with my purchase.

Better to ask forgiveness than permission. But then again, I am old and don't mind sleeping on the floor.
