15 round MecGar Mags

Hello Everyone,

A few days ago, I took delivery of a 15 round MecGar magazine for my FN Hi-Power SFS. By chance, I had some extra time for dry fire practice and found the new magazine to make the trigger quite rough. I switched to an empty 10 round mag and the trigger was smooth.

Is it common for a 15 round mag to make the trigger seem rough? Thanks for your input.

Make sure the top front of the mag is smooth where the mag meets the disconnect, also the front to back dimentions may be slightly different causing more pressure on the disconnect.

Concur with Smith10. I have two and have had no problems. In fact, I also have two of the 13 rd. "Indian Army" mags and two 17 rd "South African mags all of which have functioned perfectly.

Can you accidentally screw up the gun by removing the mag safety?

thanks

Only if you drive the trigger pin out the wrong way. Drive out from right to left & reinstall from left to right.

The pistol is Fine without the unneeded disconnect.

Thanks very much. I'll give it a try. I agree that the mag disconnect is unneeded.

thanks,
