What did he just say?

There are things you hear supposedly intelligent, knowledgeable people say that have you saying to yourself, 'What did he just say? Did I hear that?'

An example tonight:

I was watching a re-run episode of a TV show, titled 'Gun Stories'. The episode was about the Colt 1911. Imagine my surprise when one of the on-air experts proudly stated that the .45 ACP cartridge was such a man-stopper that you could hit someone, and I quote, '[. . .] in the pinkie and spin him around three times'. I instantly thought, 'Really? What about Newton's Third Law of Motion there Sport?'

The point is, there are a lot of people, some amongst our shooting friends as well as those would ban guns, who take such erroneous comments as gospel when supposedly knowledgeable people say it. Stuff like that hurts us as a shooting fraternity especially when the political climate is as hostile as it is at the moment.

Some of these myths have been around so long, and repeated so often, that they are taken as truths.....unfortunately!!

If it’s one thing I’ve learned it’s you can’t comment on stuff you know nothing about. If I’m a Dr. I’ll comment in medical stuff not on dentist stuff...ya feel me?

Hear, hear. Fancy asking your accountant how to install your home A/C unit?

As for a subject in which you are supposedly an 'authority' - exaggeration and documentable falsehoods are a no-go.
