Anti-Seize

Does anybody know if Choke Tube Lube has anti-seize properties and can be used for that purpose?

I wouldn't hesitate to use the Birchwood Casey choke tube lube for that, Ray. According to the BC writeup below, that's what it is intended for.

Here's what Birchwood Casey says about its choke tube lube: "Prevents stuck choke tubes caused by corrosion, high stress of steel shot loads, extreme temperatures and pressure from repeated trap and skeet shooting. Withstands heat and prevents seizure even at extreme temperatures up to 2000F. Provides maximum lubrication against friction and excellent corrosion protection from rain and salt water. Anti-seize lubricating compound guarantees ease in choke tube insertion and removal for all regular and stainless steel tubes. Excels as a universal lubricant and eliminates galling on stainless steel. Excellent for use on muzzleloaders, breech plugs and nipples to prevent seizing."

There are a lot of brands of choke tube lube, but this one definitely has anti-sieze qualities.

I've left my shotgun choke tubes lubed with the BC choke tube lube for several years at a time in storage and they always come right out with ease. The same applies when I was shooting hundreds of rounds a month at Skeet. Also, given the part about " Withstands heat and prevents seizure even at extreme temperatures up to 2000F. Provides maximum lubrication against friction and excellent corrosion protection from rain and salt water." I'd say it will work in the application you're dealing with. IMHO.

Good information for the Birchwood Casey choke tube lube JayPee. I will look to use on my Model 12 Winchester 12 Gage for storage and shooting. Thank for the post
