Since I am now old, I have seen a few shootings in my time.

I was one of the few in Israel that for a time carried a 1991 .45acp, I shot some people with it. Then one day was informed that I would have to start carrying a Hi Power like every one else. The night before I was to carry the Hi Power for real for thew first time I actually didn't sleep well. Being born and raised in the USA I was all about Cooper.

I then had some shootings with the Hi Power, I was surprised it worked just like the 1911. If I had good shot placement it worked, if I didnt, it didn't work.

I took some time off from Israel and moved back to the USA where I was a deputy and at the start we were a .357 mag wheel gun agency. I was very impressed with how well 125 grain HP worked.

This took me in later years after retirement in Israel and once again moving back to the USA to carry a Glock 35 converted to .357 sig with 125 grain HP.

Then the FBI really started having an effect on the way HP ammo was made and since today it all expands and in the end the difference is very small and penetration is all about the same. I have gone back to 9mm 147 gr HP, easy to shoot, faster to shoot and it puts me back with my beloved Hi Power or Glocks with RMR for my old age.

When in a country that allows me a rifle that is what is by my bed at night. Currently in the DR so it is a shotgun by my bed.

For range fun I carry and shoot, 9 mm, and 357. However for CCW it becomes awkward as the smallest caliber I like to have is 215 lb. 28 yo. With any duty pistol he chooses. Since alas I am from Canada and personal protection is a service we must sub out to the only contractor available. Even though their service is generally not, shall I say.... At a moments notice.

Previous post, merely to lighten the mood. However ballistically, I am of the ilk that 9 mm makes great sense, due to capacity and performance, and ease of handling.
