My thought as well. Like all the other major gunmakers CZ is producing a number of very refined, smaller 9mm carry guns that are very popular. I have three CZ's, all 9mm's, but have owned a CZ 75 .40, which I carried for CCW, and a CZ 83 in .380 ACP.

With JHP's the performance of the 9x19 and the 45ACP is so close that the heavier 45 is not necessarily warranted. Most people I know who carry prefer the 9mm. My own preference is for the 45 however. I sure would not trust a mouse gun (380).

Grinning

In the very hot months(there are quite a few), I carry a 380cal. In the cooler months where one actually wears clothes, my carry can be anywhere from 30 Luger to 45LC.

The newest...bullet developments by Hornady, Nosler, & Federal , have given the .45 ACP a significant boost. But I still carry 200 gr. Speer Gold Dots in my SIG P227.
The others , mentioned above, are as good or better. I would not personally know , what loading is rated #1 ( top of the heap).

Most of my 1911 holsters will accept a High Power if a bit imperfectly.

I would bet if you were to soak the 1911 holster over night and them fit it to a HP using all the normal precautions it would work just fine and would then be a perfect fit.

It seems likely a similar poll posted on the 1911 forum would produce different results...

I know this is an old thread but I guess Jer you would have to put me down in the other category. Iíve been known to carry my CZ-82 (9X18) a lot, especially in the summer with shorts and a t-shirt. It feels real confrontable on me with my Eric Larsen IWB holster. It has 12 plus 1 rounds and I can shoot the piss out of it.

For years it was a Smith 442-1 .38 Sp. Still carry it about a third of the time. The rest of the time its a little Ruger, either the LC9s 9mm or the new version of the LCP .380. In addition to higher round capacity with them, I seem to shoot tighter groups at 15 yards with them than I do at 10 yds. with the .38. --c

If i was allowed to carry out here in paradise! My carry would be my Browning HP with Speer Gold Dot 147gr GDHP, and two Spare 10 round Magazines. In a shoulder holster. Would likely have to find a leather maker and have have a holster made?

Scott, I am with you on the 147 grain rounds for the BHP. Mine far prefer the older, slower cartridge. Well, I am older and slower.... so there you have it.

I am not to far behind George. I remembered Vern had a holster thread about Cross draw holsters, back in February. Went back and read through the topic and thought.
The cross draw holster might be what I would use to carry my Browning, if allowed.
Like the idea to cross draw from the left would be smoother, and easier to draw that way then to go up and back to draw, a little faster. And not use a shoulder holster that i talked about. Might be the way to go someday, after I move. Will think on it for a while.
