DREYSE semi auto pistol ?

Has anyone ever heard of or owned this pistol. Or has anyone ever heard of this company. The writing on the pistol is,

Dreyse Pheihin

Heinisshe Metahaaren

Maschinanfabrik

ast. Scmmerba

# 154333

It looks to be a 32cal. No mag but it functions with 32cal snap caps. I haven't found any info in any of my books yet. So if you have heard of this company or can help in any way please let me know. This is from the crates I inherited.

Thanks guys

I forgot to mention it sort of looks like a FN 1900 32cal auto.

DREYSE semi auto pistol ?

Sounds like a Dreyse Model 1907. Never heard of it myself, until I looked it up after seeing this topic. It is indeed a .32. Made by Rheinmetall after they bought the old Dreyse Waffenfabrik.

These are pretty much all I could find about it:

Yeah, Thats what I came up with. I just found an old issue of Modern Gun Values ( 10th Edition)and located it there. The Photo of it in the book looks just like the one I have. Thanks for the information and help. By the way, have you checked out the Forums at that site? LOL!

DREYSE semi auto pistol ?

Now how do I go about trying to locate a magazine for this? I wonder if the Browning 1900 mag will fit. I have seen them for sale in a catalog before.

DREYSE semi auto pistol ?

I located magazines for this pistol at, Ammoclip.com. This is the 1907 Dreyse, 32auto.

It is a strange looking little thing. Kind of large for a 32cal. and the barrel is on the bottom of the slide, recoil spring is on the top. Maybe? Thanks for the help.

Howdy Mr. Spikey614,

Well sir you do have me curious now, and I suspect a few other folks as well. Nice find on the mags too sir. Once you have received your order, please let us know how you feel the company handled things. Having another positive experience on a company that seems to specialize in magazines would never be a bad thing to me.

You really do need to posts some pics of this find when you can too, lol. Trust me sir, if I can do it, then anyone can. An intelligent man would say I tend towards being technologically challenged - which is a fancy way of saying puters/cameras tend to intimidate me (grinning). So if I can do it, then truly anyone can sir. I read the instruction manual for a camera I received as a thoughtful gift from a friend, and was happy to discover I could set all photos to comply with our photo posting size limits. Having set my camera up to always takes pics in our maximum size requirement, I find using a photo posting site to be very simple - even for me, lol.

So when you get the chance, please posts some pics of this one along with several others of your latest finds.

I am looking forward to your range report too once you are able to shoot this one.

Since I've started looking at this pistol I've found them in several books I own. I just never looked at them before. I found a little history on the pistol and it seems to have been a few copies of this type. I guess JB did this design right too. I still don't think this is in any shape to shoot. I think its just too old......maybe I will. I WILL POST PHOTO'S SOON OF ALL THE GUNS I"VE MENTIONED!!!!
