Finally shot HS precision Sat. The wind died down to10 mph or so (live in Kansas). After bench resting to determine accuracy load (.23" 3 shot group @ 100 yds.) I went to watershed on property. My buddy ranged 6-8" rocks @ waterline from 400 to 550 yds. and called shots. The Leupold 6.5-24 scope with "varmint hunter" reticle made first rd. hits fairly routine. It was a memorable afternoon.

I have a HS .308 HTR tactical with a night force nsx 5.5 - 22X it shoots sub 1/2 groups @ 100 yards, and my best was a 3/4 group at 300 yards. i would by another hs in a second, in a varmiter.

Hello. It IS good when a rifle does what you want. In the past, I've been unable to sleep at night working up accurate rifle loads or trying to figure out why one was acting "sick" all of the sudden.

marksmanship at any distance is difficult in those kinds of windy conditions. It's nice when you find the right load for your rifle.

I just bought that very same scope for my Winchester heavy 26" heavy barrel 22-250. Care to share more on it?

lebowski; You need access to a 5-600 yd. range to "prove" the 3/4/5/600 yd. reticles. You won't be dead on at all ranges, but pretty darn close. You have ability to adj. POI at different yardages by playing with the power ring/decreasing magnification. As much as it pains me, I would suggest you read the manual that comes with the scope. I finally knuckled and read it. It cleared up the concept for me.

I just figured out the concept last night. I don't have a 600 yard line on mine, do you have one? FYi, the Interactve Trainer at Leupold's website is very instructional.
