Winchester Ranger 9mm +p+

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have a question regarding Ranger ammo. I picked up a few boxes of 9mm 115 gr +p+ and noticed on the box that it's loaded 25% hotter than standard 9mm ammo. I shoot a CZ-75 sp-01. Is it safe to shoot this ammo out of my gun?

jperos and all,

I use Winchester Ranger LE 127 gr +P+ in my 9mm'S as a regular carry load. Mind you I shoot enough to ensure reliability, but do no give my guns a steady diet of +P+.

Nowaday's I find myself reaching for a .357 SIG when I want more umph than the 9mm can dish out.

Hello. Yes, it should be plenty safe out of your CZ but as has been noted, +P+ will accelerate wear. FWIW, it really does seem to be an effective 9mm load.

Best.

Thanks for your reply. I don't plan on shooting + P + all the time but I'm glad the gun won't blow up when I feel like shooting some. Perhaps a .357 Sig should be my next purchase.

Gents,

The more I see of the .357 SIG the more I like it. The 125 Gr. Ranger LE load gives me 1,360 FPS from my Sig P226 and about the same from my Browning .40/.357 SIG conversion.

It's worth a hard look. I find it interesting that I've never had a stoppage in my SIG or BHP in that caliber...with factory or my reloaded ammo.
