3" K frames are one of my favorite platforms.

Two older retired L.E. at the rec -center both pack them. Both in there 70,s ,one a EX Chief and the other former FBI. Both use pancakes and 158LSWC-HP +P.

Like others,I think the 3" M13 is the coolest thing going. Unfortunately, i came to this realization after they stopped production and they became scarce.
I've had a 4" M19 for over 30 years and it never ceases to amaze me how sweet a shooter it is.

Went to a local gun show a couple of weeks ago and saw a beautiful M13---4". Too good to pass up; only the very slightest signs of use.
Went straight to the range and got the usual (for the breed): one smallish ragged hole SA and one big ragged hole DA (slow). They knew how to make them!
