NEF and H&R revolvers in .32 H&R Magnum

Whenever I guy a weapon that is "new to me" I will look for a copy of the original documentation or owner's manual. Additionally I will search for any other technical information that I can find on that model. I am not alone in this as many (probably most) owner's want reliable information on their weapons of choice. Late last year I bought an NEF model R73. These are 5-shot revolvers chambered in .32 H&R Magnum. After I looked around the internet and found nothing, I called the H&R1871 company. I was very curtly told that when Marlin Firearms bought the remnants of the H&R1871 and NEF companies, they didn't acquire any of the handgun production abilities and they didn't retain any of the handgun technical records. I was told that Marlin had done this in an effort to divorce themselves from liabilities. I don't doubt that what I am looking for exists in the files of the revived company but won't ever again be released to the public.

Out of this frustration came my effort to obtain as much historic and technical information as I could, pertaining to the NEF and H&R revolvers in .32 H&R Magnum. The end goal being to put it all on the internet for everyone to access. So this post is both an announcement and a solicitation. If you send me a copy (a loaned original is preferred) of any documentation that you have for NEF and H&R revolvers in .32 H&R Magnum, I will scan it and put it on my web site. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You can go to the GunBroker auction site and find old instruction manuals for H&R revolvers i have a couple that came with the H&R 732 .32 S&W Long chambered models. (One was NIB and had been built in 1982)! If you don't find what you want there, go to GunsAmerica, and it is likely that they will have them as well.

I hope that this is if assistance,

Scott
