.45 ACP loads for Kriss carbine

Hi all - first post.

Can anyone offer a solid .45 ACP recipe which would work well in both a 1911 and a Kriss Vector carbine using a 230GR FMJ projectile? I'm especially interested in staying with pistol powders if possible - Alliant Bullseye, WW231 or any of the Vihtavuori 310-350 series.

You can reproduce the military hardball cartridge with 230gr FMJ bullet and 5.0gr of Bullseye, or 6.0gr of Unique. Use an OAL of 1.260 +/-. This load will/should give you an 850-875 FPS velocity from a govt. size 1911. That load should work just fine in either gun. You can modify that round as you see fit.

This thread would fit better in the reloading sub-section, but no biggie!!

Thanks Doc - I tried using my usual handgun loads of 5.4 of BE and noticed significant primer cratering out of the carbine. 5.0 sounds like it might do the trick.

Thanks also for the tip on the correct forum.

Good luck with that load, and let us know how it works out for you in both guns. Good old military hardball loads work in just about any/all 45ACP guns.
