My new, and otherwise wonderful CZ P-01 has a really lousy SA trigger. Any advise on who the proper Guru would be to correct this ailment and give me more manageable let-off? Hipowers and 1911's have spoiled me.
Thanks, but I'm new to the CZ's. For those familiar with them I could use a little advise as to where to start inquiring. It;'s not hard to find a 'smith for a 1911 or HP as there are many well recognized names but the CZ is not as common and the P-01 has significant redesign issues, as advertised on the CZ factory site. Anyone?
BTW, Sorry if this should have gone to another forum heading. I'm not a 'smith & didn't know if this would be welcome on that heading.
Jim Miossi did my CZ 75. We used one of his "hard" sears and an Angus hammer. Both rockwell in the 45-50 range I believe. Trigger job will probably out last me.
It's doubtful you'll ever get an SA trigger as good as the 1911 or BHP due to the trigger geometry. That said mine is damn good.
You definitely should look a Matt Mink or Angus Hobdell for trigger work on your CZ. I have several of Matt's work on my IPSC Production match SP01, CCW P01 and a few other CZ's. The trigger work is phenominal and are some of the best triggers Ive ever felt, 1911 or otherwise.
I think you'll be amazed when you feel them. My DA is about 6-6.5 lbs and the SA is about 2lbs, maybe a little under that. The break is super clean and every bit as good as my 1911's, and Ive had trigger work done by some of the best.
I shoot my CZ's better than anything else I have and Ive got $3000 1911's, STI's, etc.
He takes these guns to a whole new level.
