Mr. Camp

If I recall correctly, we are approaching the one year mark since Stephen Camp's passing. As others have commented, the continued operation of this forum is surely the best possible tribute to his memory.

From the land of his beloved BHP, I'd like to praise Mr Camp's kindness and unlimited knowledge. After his death I bought his book about the BHP from his wife but I deeply regret not having had the possibility of a direct contact with him.

Gents,

I'm lucky enough to have been chosen to moderate on the forum. A true honor for me that Stephen had the confidence in me, my background, and abilities to "bring something to the table", so to speak.

That said, I remain humbled by the expertise shown by our other moderator's and staff.

Perhaps, our greatest strength is that we all bring something to the forum, share, and respect each others views.

Luckily, I have all of Stephen's works that are signed by him. I cherish them and recommend them to many new shooters. There is something for all in his works.

Let's not forget our mentor this Memorial Day. We were diminished by his passing, but are rich in the fact that he lives on in his works and this site...an honest tribute to a man who truely lived.

Semper Fi,

Wes

His body of work remains and I feel most blessed to have stumbled across him. Gone too soon.

I never met Mr. Camp in person but we did exchange several emails. In those emails he made suggestions to a Hi Power I was having customized. Now, everytime I get that pistol out I think of him because there's a whole lot of him in that pistol.

He came across to me as an honest, upright man with boundless courtesy and integrity. Unfortunately, it seems to me, that there are fewer and fewer "Mr. Camps" in this world.

Hello,

I followed Steve here from the old FN Hi Power forum many years ago. I had many pleasant exchanges of emails/PM's with Steve. I remember him to remind me that we are "all students and none of us are experts" in the world of shooting.

Steve was the consummate "Internet Ambassador" and was kind to everyone that he came into contact with. Steve also relied on first hand experience with the firearms and ammunition he tested and regarded folks contributions through actual experience as the true measure of performance.

I truly believe that Steve's legacy is still alive on this forum with wonderful caliber of folks that participate here. With that in mind, Steve's legacy lives on here.

Best,

Chris
