New FEG

Found a NIB FEG PJK-9HP forsale on the net, so sent the money and am waiting with baited breath. The pictures of the pistol and box are pretty awesome. Will try and post pics when it arrives. Bill

WTF

I will sheepishly admit to keeping this particular PJK-9HP completely unfired...an FEG safe queen. I bought it ANIB when Kassner was still in business and in corresponding with Mr. K found it (B264XX) was produced 03/14/93. Though the pic doesn't show it, it is a beautifully fit and finished pistol. I do have 3 later PJK-9HP pistols, one in virtually ANIB condition which I haven't run 200 rounds through and 2 others which are actually shooters...but honestly, only occasional shooters. All have performed extremely well, in fact I don't recall a single malfunction with any of them, but round count isn't high and it was virtually all ball...with the occational old JHP that got dumped in the plinking ammo cans. At the risk of sounding the snob, when I carry one of my High Powers, it's a custom FN/Browning in 9mm or .40...or a neat little lightly customized FM Detective.

This is obviously a Kassner(302xx) and now I am wondering if it will be a safe queen and I'll just pick up one of Coles FEG junkers to experiment with as I have an FN which I shoot on occasion. I like the idea of the Detective, but read of so may troubles with them, unfortunately didn't pick one up when they were inexpensive. Tomhorn,.... that baited breath is gun breath, stuff you get from shooting your mouth off too much...Which I admit to being guilty off, Bill

Bill,

That was a (bad) pun on the spelling "baited". The correct English-English is "bated" breath, as in abated; but the Americanized spelling "baited" breath makes for an unfortunately obscure and awful reference and even worse play on words.

My apologies to one and all for the bad pun, but perhaps I shall yet pick up a few extra points towards my final grade from any English professors out there. :-]

At any rate, regardless of your breath, I cheerfully await the pics and report of your fine new-to-you
FEG, whilst remaining ever-thankful that Apple has yet to incorporate an olfactory feature into their fine line of products.

Hello,

I bought a LNIB FEG-PJK-9HP several years ago that was my first introduction to the world of HP's. It was a phenomenal shooter and was the platform that I practiced some of my first mods on a HP designed pistol. They are really good just from the box and I wouldn't keep one as a "safe queen". They will hold up to all of the shooting you want to do with them and removing the magazine disconnect will "sweeten" the trigger in an instant!

Best,

Chris
