Canik 9mm

For the past two years I have been carrying a Canik C100/55/9mm. This is a nice clone of the CZ75 Compact, but made in Turkey at a NATO approved facility. This is an alloy framed pistol, light (22.6 oz no mag. 25.9 oz with empty mag. 29.1oz with 10 rds). They are imported by Tri-Star and are now being marketed as a Tri-Star 9mm...Tri-Star also markets other Caniks so hense the designator at the begining. This pistol fits in the front pocket of my cargo pants and can be carried cocked and locked, or decocked. Following threads in various foreign countries concerning pistols I have found that they are reliable and light and well liked. CZ sights can be used on them along with CZ mags. I love my HP's &CZ's but getting older I like carrying something that is light and accurate...The other thing is they are reasonably priced.I have no financial interest etc. Have noticed that they are hard to get as they seem to sell out as fast as they become available...So thought I would post something about a pistol not in the mainstream for comments....Spad

Spad,

Thanks for the quick review on the Canik C100. There are a number of good weapons coming out of Turkey today. This appears to be one of them.

Enjoy!

I have a Tristar C100 as well and it is about to replace my cZ 75 Compact as a carry piece. It shoots every bit as well as the cZ, but the lighter weight makes the difference.

tekarra, I liked the C100 so much I bought another one and have put Hi-Viz sights on the front and a higher CZ sight on the rear for shooting 115gr stuff. Currently waiting for a Trijicon CZ front sight for the other. Spad

I have been thinking of another C100 and weighing it against an L120.

I got such a good deal on the C100 from the original importer I just couldn't pass up another one.Thought I would have one I could change sights, maybe mod the trigger but still have one for carry. The second one just seems to have a better trigger, but not by much. Tough comparing against my 1911 triggers and HP's...Turns out Optic Planet has the Trijicon front sight on backorder, Yuk...I have very thin grips on mine, sanded down aftermarket that help the pistol be thinner&hide better, plus shoot better for me, and is light, that is what I want for carry. My HP's will outshoot it in my hands, but are much heavier.........Caniks are a bargain...Spad
